I thought it was if he made a genuine attempt to play the ball and a penalty has been awarded then it's a yellow (not doubly disciplined/disadvantaged - or words to that effect)(?)

He wasn't great today mate. No idea how they gave him MotM, maybe for scoring the goal that effectively ended it as contest (?) but he wasn't particularly good today, didn't really stand out.
