Hope this back 3 experiment isn’t a sign of things to come in the CL by Pep. Best team in Europe for 20+ games with a back 4 and suddenly he springs a back 5. SHOCK, we are awful at it. We essentially lose 2 men in the middle to control the game because of the lost midfielder and the fullbacks aren’t stepping inside in this formation.
 
Poor half that. This feels like one of Pep's brainfarts like Lyon last season. Let's hope this isn't a test run for the CL!

We could easily win this game with a few changes. At the moment the team looks unbalanced.

We are literally playing 3 strikers up front with wingbacks. The problem isnt a lack of attckers its the lack of balls in behind from mendy and cancelo(cancelo has played a couple of the types of ball we need to be fair). Nothign from mendys side though....unsurprisingly.

This. I know there’s a tendency to blame the ref every match, but they have stopped our build up with fouls when they get too close, at will, and without being called as fouls.
Darke and Hoddle talking about Gabby going down in stages, he got an arm across the face ffs.
 
Hope we change it at half time and go back to looking like the City we’ve got used to recently.
 
I was thinking during the Southampton game that we should play 3 at the back now we have 3 good centre backs and Cancelo would play wing back well.

I was wrong. Not really working.
 
Disjointed overall. The odd flash of creativity and impetus, but quite honestly our worst half of football after the league games against the rags?

The set up doesn't make sense. What's the point having 3 or 4 up top with no midfield. The defence have no out ball so resort to long balls or sideways passing.
 
The team sheet reflecting what is happening on the pitch, A system that's not working in the first 45.
I wish Ferran and Jesus could keep themselves onside. We're lacking creativity tonight, Too reliant on Cancelo to come up with something.
I'm not enjoying this one bit.
Our left hand side is suspect at the back too.
 
Interesting half. Not really creating much and nothing like our usual control yet fulham havent had a shot so defensively it seems tight.
