Mahrez, Torres and Foden have all given the ball away far too much. A number of Leeds' chances came from those three giving the ball away. Mahrez has been particularly bad. Right now he is helping Leeds more than he is helping us. There is at least one goal in this game for Leeds.

Last week people were saying he couldn't do anything attacking or defending.

6 days later we're at the point where its "oh yeah sure hes good attacking but he gives a chance away".

Let's see where he is in a fortnight. A month.

We're seeing him do things he's not done since the injury, his confidence is coming back, its not going to be a perfect smooth road back to being the Mendy of Monaco, and even then he will need to improve on things because he wasnt perfect.

That’s understandable but we can’t guarantee he’ll be consistent and our backup to him is a midfielder so it’s quite a concern

Remember when we used to limited the opposition to one or two half chances per game.
What happened?

We’ve started giving the ball away too much in the final third in the last 12 months.

It’s game after game after game of slack passing, poor pressing, players playing too far away from each other, wanting too much time on the ball, and not showing enough desire to win it back.

Most of our entire team’s poor play is up front and in midfield. We make the odd mistakes at the back but that’s all anyone focuses on.

It all starts up top, a team is only as good defensively as how well it keeps the ball or wins it back high up the pitch. And we’ve been really poor in the last year at that.

And then teams can get at us.

(I don’t include de Bruyne in that as his passing and pressing makes him look like he’s on a different planet to the rest of our team)

The fact Leeds had 63% possession for the last 25 minutes shows you the key problem is upfront,we can’t keep the ball and have any meaningful possession further up the pitch so of course it’s going to result in pressure on the defence and ultimately chances created.

I hope Torres improves quickly, his closing down, movement and taking opponents on aren't very good up to now.
