Result aside lads, pre-season aside, we have to admit that this has been complete garbage.

Those of you who, in the first half, were saying we were nothing like the Mancini side of old were right. The attacking is just the same ponderous, wasteful shit, but the defending is worse.

I am not too worried, but let's not pretend this is anything other than utter shite, which it is.

Our defence has been awful.

Possession has been decent, but with the attacking talent we have displayed today we should of created by far more chances at goal, Pellegrini will not be happy with that at all.

Massive wake up call in my opinion.

Fucking Lescott. Poor positioning.

Was that VK throwing himself at the high ball for the 3rd goal ?

Sure it was, but nobody has felt the need to stick the knife into our captain yet

Not entirely convinced the 2nd goal was Lescott's fault (stream froze, not seen replay) - seemed like Kompany let Ramsey go.

The third goal was awful - getting done by a ball over your head from that distance as a centre half is criminal.

How is it hysterical? I'm not saying we'll miss out on top 4, I'm not calling a player a donkey. I'm just not convinced we have enough to finish top and I think the top 3 will be close enough that we might struggle for second too. Our defence looks very fragile and I'm not sure our attack will counteract that enough to win over the course of the whole season.

The Defensive midfield has been the problem in that Arsenal players on the ball have not been closed down quickly enough and their passing options restricted.

The left side of the team is also unbalanced. Jovetic should be on on the left from the start.

As to Negredo. It's early days and although he has nice work rate he appears to miss far, far too many opportunities.

I'm not convinced this team is good enough to win the league. Second might even be a stretch looking at the performance in this game.

Duc-It's not hysteria. It is genuine concerns about our defensive frailty, including Hart
Embarrassing.

Some people have a right to be worried. Friendlies are games to show us what stage the team is at. A week before the season starts, this team looks pretty poor. Fair enough some people are over-reacting but defensively we do look amateur.

We were A LOT worse than this when we lost the Community Shield to United two years ago. This means nothing. We then started the season like a house on fire and beat United 6-1 when we played them in a proper game! If anything, a defeat like this will focus the mind, just like that defeat two years ago did.
