The young lads have largely played very well, though, I still think Doyle is playing a bit within himself. He looks calm and composed, but he tended to shy away from playing some relatively low risk forward passes, I think in fear of losing the ball. That, coupled with Mahrez looking a bit off (completely understandable) and Torres playing outside of his normal role (again, his first half performance was nothing I am particularly worried about), slowed us down on occasion and also hampered our play around the box when they got back to set out their stall.

All of that said, he still looked very good, and I can see him getting more time in the cups (if we progress) and off the bench this season.

Foden... well, Phil was Phil. He is going to be some player.

And Delap looks exactly as we expected: tall, physical, confident, and determined.

Very much look forward to seeing how he progresses.

No point arguing about what we should or shouldn’t be doing. It’s a young team playing and many haven’t had much time together.
I’ve seen more positives than negatives.
Think we will win this and credit where it’s due.

oh, FFS Mahrez - some things will never change..,
