Alvarez and someone had both pushed high. Think they were checking for hands to face or neck. It was a bit naughty by Julian tbh
Very silly by Alvarez, particularly after the Rodri sending off a few weeks ago.
Getting refs and Var involved is just ridiculous.
You cannot depend on them getting a correct decision.
Rodri out for 3 matches while Kovacic not sent off for 2 possible yellows.

Any time a decision goes to Var, I never know what the outcome could be.

Decent half but could still do better in the final third, where some of our decisions are either rushed or go missed completely. Game should already be out of sight.
Not that Doku was known for his decision-making in the final third at Rennes but it's worth noting that he primarily played on the right so I'm sure there's a bit of growing pains going on the left for him.

Teams that play a similar style to us but with lower quality players are basically our perfect opponents. Bournemouth back in the day were similar. Played lovely football that beat a lot of teams, and always got hammered by us.
So true. Unfortunatly RDZ has said he wont change whoever we play.

I love Stones. It's almost unfair for them at times. It is almost like having second Rodri when he plays in the middle

Very comfortable half for us but we really should have scored more, hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us. Our only danger was a couple of tight balls by Ortega that were almost intercepted and one run by Mitoma.
A ridiculous yellow for Rodri and Alvarez lucky with a stupid push. Can Pep please drill it into our players to cut out this stupidity.
More of the same second half with some better end product please.
