I wouldn’t call all of them random.

If he has done his knee, two (his and Mendy’s) were brought on by themselves with silly challenges.

Don’t think they’re random. I think they’re a consequence of the style of play and an occasional lack of situational moderation unfortunately.

I meant more in the sense of situations where the tackles aren’t really needed, as you both have said, but I do take the point about our system leading to more opportunities where a player is tempted to stick their leg out like that (i.e. teams generally only have counters against us and we play the quick forward press).
