Sterling on the left worked pretty well when he just put the ball on a plate for rodri and assisted the third goal.

Because there was an open pass and no indecision. When he got in the 2nd time, he didn’t know what to do, it was on his left foot and no easy pass on, so he starts over-thinking the situation. He should just shoot with his left but refuses to do so. On the right, you’d have to think he takes the shot.
