Mediocrity of the highest order when applied to us translates to shockingly awful. Stodgy in attack, nondescript in the MF and almost intentionally bad when defending. The team where every single player looks like they never won anything in their life.

Playing with a lot more pace than recently and moving the ball with intent. Still frail defensively but Haaland and Bernardo could’ve (arguably should’ve) scored. If they had people would be saying how much we’ve improved and how well we’ve played. Need to keep at them in the second half and we’ll score again

Anyway, good start but soon fell into our "static caravan" formation.

Everton were totally out of it from the start so of course instead of killing them off we allow them to stay in the game and get an equaliser from their first effort, we give teams more confidence than their own managers and staff.

I feel this is one of our best 45 mins since October. It feels more positive than recent weeks. Doesn’t mean we can take our foot off the gas we need to keep up the concentration. Our wingers are trying to make things happen around their box. Seeing more of the old city than the recent defeatist city.

Should be 1-0 up but lack of concentration and not picking up Ndiaye cost us. Feel we have enough to win this in 2nd half. The team cannot and must not drop their heads, they have to believe the win is there for the taking.

Pretty happy with that tbf. Created some good chances and Bernardo should have made it 2-0. Flashes of previous levels.

The thing I cannot have though is the standing off for their goal. There’s 4 of them stood looking at the kid who’s going to cross it and they just let him. Exactly the same
crack as the rags’ 2nd in the derby.
