You do realize the year we won with kompany his partner most games was otamendi? Those two have zero pace and our defense was solid as hell. Idk why everyone talks about pace. If you have a defender that can read the game good you don’t need pace.

That is nonsense. Doesn’t matter how good your reading of the game is, if the space to run in behind is there and you’re slow then a quick striker is going to either force you to make a foul or breeze past you.

Kompany wasn’t exactly slow and he was physically strong. We also had a younger Fernandinho that the opposition had to contend with and who made tactical fouls when we were in trouble.

Easy game, with our defenders easily handling Leicester. Then out of nowhere Kyle Walker decides to make this a tight game by giving an early Christmas gift to Leicester. Full control pissed away.

Mendy is now responsbile for other players performances; the agenda some people have against certain players is laughable!

It's quite clear Mendy is getting caught high up the pitch and Ake doesn't know whether to join up and receive his predicatable pass back or try to spring the offside.

This is a game where ZInchenko, or Cancelo, is much, much better option than Mendy, unfortunately they are out with injuries. We are overloading them 40 yards from their goal instead on the box corners.
Eric Garcia is a quality and such a shame he is on the way out.
Every goal we concede these days stems from a positional chaos we find ourselves in, Mahrez of all people defending the centre with a weak tackle attempt.
We need to speed up the game and that will ask for a change of formation, KdB needs to go much deeper, we played almost like Southgate manages us with our back line dictating the game, which was at pedestrian pace.
