Fair enough but he shouldn't be starting in games like this where he's "5% off"...hasn't done well in the really big matches this season, perfectly fine for Bournemouth/Villa etc type of games

Yes but that's on Pep not him. Pep would clearly rather play a younger player with potential and blood him in these games than somebody else. Pep is always thinking about the long-term health of the team and that's his prerogative.
