Sterling has been a very good player for us but his time is up.

Completely agree.

He’s the epitome of a relationship where the couples get too comfortable and let themselves go.

Everything that made him exciting has now gone. He just trudges round the pitch these days slowing down every attack.

I have that slight feeling that a striker like Haaland could rejuvenate him but its a case of too little too late.

It was his selection that cost us the CL last season and it will be the same again this season if Pep perseveres with him.

Both teams have been poor imo.

The business end of the season is fucking brutal and it results in performances like this.

Pep has made very little attempt to change the game or result.

He probably takes the view that this was the least important of the 4 games and the least important of the 3 competitions.

I'm still in the "Sterling will shine playing off a true striker", but he doesn't make it easy for me, ha.

He did shine off a true striker.

Trouble with playing without a striker is that all the other players suffer for it because they've all spent their whole careers with a striker (you know, the way every fucking team in the world plays) and suddenly being ordered to play with a ghost up top is jarring for them.
