We lack any energy in the middle of the pitch. Defensively, Lyon are way better than us. That is frankly laughable when you consider how much we've spent on defenders. Can't see us progressing to the final. That was my feeling before the game and this first half has only reinforced that. Crippling the midfield to reinforce an incompetent back-line is not a winning strategy. We desperately needed to bring in some defenders last summer. It's incredibly frustrating to think how much better we could have done this season had the club not gone all-in on Maguire.

They've backed themselves and their style and played their game.
We've not shown faith in our style, played a midfield of Gundogan, Fernandinho and Rodri with creative players on bench. And the predictable result has taken place.
