We have replaced our outgoing players with inferior quality, Torres aside. This is a key factor for our form last 18 months.
i could argue the defence is now much better stocked, if you want hope. In 2017-2019 the defensive personnel was not that important because of the work the midfield put in to dominate and win back the ball.

We’ve just lost too many great players
 
Sterling is a great footballer but some of the fundamentals he’s so hot and cold with. Little touches to set himself up get sent wayward and will occasionally trip over his own feet. If he sorts these out he’ll be unplayable
