Some fans on here won't have it. Someone made him MotM over Akanji the other day!

He's been shocking, although some would have him captain of this squad, full stop!!
Great first season, was an inspirational leader who lead us to the title, very hot and cold since, feel Laporte should have stayed instead

Every player thread for the defenders this season alternates between posts that say “they’re the best ever” and “sell them now.” No middle ground!

Not defending that first half performance as it was poor both collectively and individually, but if we'd had our shooting boots on we could have easily had 3 to 5 goals tonight. I expect a reaction in the 2nd half and fortunately we don't need to win the game so 2 goals gets us the draw we need.

Can we keep them out at the other end, though?

This fucks us for the games either side of the last group game as we now have to win it and can’t rotate, whilst also potentially then fucking us in February when we have to play Real Madrid or Bayern instead of Copenhagen or PSV. Shit night.

Feel like the lads have watched the Stuart Peace era season review and taken great inspiration. I’m feeling weirdly nostalgic as we hammer passes out of play, blast shots over the bar, trip over the ball at the back and clatter into players when the ball is long gone.
