Alex Dawson the last hat trick scorer in the semis. I saw him play for United many times when I was a kid in the early sixties. He looked like a professional boxer. They had a wing half called Nobby Lawton in those days from Newton Heath. In the close season a few United players played cricket for Newton Heath. I can remember Dawson was an opening batsman & Maurice Setters was a fast bowler. I was in calipers in those days & was always given a good view

Yes they are. I don’t get Dixon though. His first football love was Man City. He just said he stood ok the Kippax watching Summerbee. It’s been said on here on several occasions that his dad is a season ticket holder. Yet he still slags us off.
