How would you describe our football this season; functional? Yeah, probably. Effective? Undefeated so far would tend to back that up. Exhilarating to watch? I have to say no. Even as a biased fan, I find it testing watching us at times. So I can imagine how non-fans would find us boring.

But....

If we make it five in a row, I doubt there'll be too many fans who'll care how we did it. I certainly won't!
To be fair, a lot of the “lack of exciting football” is down to opposition tactics.

It’s difficult to put on an exhilarating, flowing attacking showcase when the opposition sit in their box for 80% of the match.

The only games that are normally deemed entertaining by neutrals are the ones with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real, Bayern, etc. because they involve two teams trying to attack and win the match, rather than one trying to do so and the other just trying to avoid losing at all costs.

Bit of a strange one to watch. Was all fairly comfortable until that chance at the end. But also showcased where we‘ve dropped off from our best - bit too easy to play through our press, too many spaces, and a little bit laboured in how we move the ball.
All relative / differences of degrees. But vintage City teams of recent seasons would have this sewn up already.

They are keeping the ball very well & we are struggling to get it off them so I would say that suggest they are playing well & their tactics are working
Their tactics are working but ours aren't which is why we are ahead and they've had no shots on target.
