Even though Watford are using the tried and tested bus that morphs into a counter-attack, I feel like they are not as good as other teams we’ve faced recently at shutting down the spaces. More goals in this for us if we go for them.

Half-time thoughts:

• Bernie is just so ****ing good at ****ing everything
• I don’t care who got the Golden Glove, Eddie is the best keeper in the league
• Chuffed for Jesus, who has been working very hard throughout the match
• Sterling has been at the centre of all of our good play, he really has become one of the most consistent performers in world football, even when he doesn’t get on the scoresheet
• David scores for the first time in 30 games and is keeping us ticking over, but I would like it if he didn’t drop so deep to get the ball so often, as it leaves us struggling to work it through the bank of ten Watford players with the large hole in the middle just outside their box (as Ilkay is reluctant to fill the space when David is back with our defenders, for good reason)
• Kyle and Oleks have been ok, but have made some errors that could have been costly; I am sure Pep will correct this at halftime
• Vinny and Eric have dealt with things very well when called upon; I still wish Vinny was 6 years younger, as those two regularly partnered would take us to another 10 trophies over the next 5 years (not that we won’t anyway, but we’d walk it in that scenario)
• Mahrez has been a bit hit or miss so far, but toward the end you could see things started to click for him, he knows he has the beating of their defenders now, so I expect an assist or goal in the second half
• I am hoping Kev and Kun get on with 20 or so minutes to play so they can contribute to our (hopefully, not taking anything for granted) historic domestic treble
