Strange game really. All players have had decent moments and pretty much all of them have been sloppy at times.

Happy to be 2-0 up of course but we really have so little control of games these days. Poor passing, dwelling on the ball too long, players not finding space, half-hearted pressing and tackles, failing to track back etc, have lead to games becoming end to end rather than us having a stranglehold. We have been more than fortunate on one or two occasions.

We just need to tighten our game up a bit and cut out the sloppiness. If we can do that, then we should win this.

Pep playing with fire again.
We are standing too high and they are bossing the mid, overwhelming Kova as Kev and Foden don't help enough backwards.

Pull em out and hit on the break.
Savinho saving us the day as it stands.

You need to take your blue tinted shades off. We have been poor against an awful West Ham. Yes 2 up but generally for 40 mins we looked disorganised & zero energy.

To be fair, when the they have a counter on, our mid is late joining the defence, so has left space at the top of the box for the oppo to get a strike off. Luckily for us Savinho has bailed us out a couple of times, coming back and De Bruyne once.

But, yeah, it needs attention.

The difference is that we normally cross the ball right into centre of the box (where all the defenders are) giving Haaland little hope. Sav’s cross was clever crossing deep, allowing Haaland more space and time. That was a superb cross, and the way he left the defender for dead. At this stage let’s get the three points until reinforcements arrive.
Thing is Haaland never makes any front post runs to get in front of the defenders so the only way to find him is a cross to the far post and it has to be perfect.

Hammers unlucky to be 2 down but I'll happily take it.
KDB would be worth his place if we had more athleticism alongside him but in this team you just see glimpses of the Titan he was.

Neither Kovavic or Gundogan can play the Number 6 and that is our biggest issue

They just don’t have the natural instinct
I think Kova can do it, albeit not to Rodri level but he can’t do it with Bernie and KDB next to him. Bernie and KDB, jogging around, doing next-to-nothing would make it extremely difficult for any number 6 to perform to a high level.
