Yeah was hoping things had changed and Pep was modifying his tactics with the new players but it's same old same old. Pass pass pass high line, then concede 4 goals to an inferior Saudi Arabian team.Al-Hilal with just 30% of the ball score 4. Terrible. But the sad thing is it's not a shock. This has happened regularly throughout Peps tenure. He doesn't have answers to when teams break on us. Never has done. He relies solely on his teams keeping the ball which is all very well but when they don't score with their 70% possession you're on a hiding to nothing and just asking to be punished.
At least we get a break and can recharge the batteries properly for the season to come. But the coaching staff must stay behind and do some more homework..........
It's not the pass pass pass issue - it's the lack of runs behind or the stretching of defences that has stopped. The only option is the pass pass pass routine.Yeah was hoping things had changed and Pep was modifying his tactics with the new players but it's same old same old. Bit like v Spurs last season.
We need a clear out including GK and a modification in tactics.
Today was a shining example that....
It's not gonna work anymore.
That speed and tackling was incredible. We really are missing the version of Walker we had until last season. He covered up for a lot of shoddy defending by the rest of the back four.
