I guess the result does not matter a jot as it was always going to be emotional. However the fringe players only looking ok when Villa sat off and couldn't be arsed is a worry.

As soon as Villa stepped it up we end up with them ole ole - not a fitting send off to the greatest manager we've had. I remember Messi saying that the players wanted to send Pep off with a fitting performance - says it all.

Lewis, Kovacic, Foden, Nico and Tiijani looked as thought they'd been the ones on the piss.
