I don't get why people are getting too worked up about Pep "faffing around like in his first season".
We haven't been at it but to get too comfy playing one system(the path of least resistance each time) will take away one of our best attributes which is our tactical flexibility. It's not been as good so far but I say if Pep can't be allowed some time at the start of the season to do this, when can he?
The more systems we can play, the less chance there is of:
Complacency creeping in,
Players getting too comfortable,
Players twiddling their thumbs on the bench rather than being used in rotation,
Being predictable for other managers to create a gameplan for,
Being unable to adjust our own tactics if a team is getting the better of us in a game.
It is frustrating but as long as we get 3 points in the bag at the end of it, we just need to remember all this tinkering has a purpose. By the mid way point hopefully Pep will know what works and the players will be getting more and more comfortable and honing each new system.
