No we can't be sure that he hasn't dropped him because they've had a massive bust up about the dirt on Sterling's car and Pep is a stickler for well groomed motors, so dropped him in retaliation.

We can't be sure that's not what happened. But when he says "he's rested, we've given him the night off", you can reasonably presume that it's because he's tired.
