Works very well as inverted fb too, we look better balanced with him on the pitch IMO
 
Decent first half. We’re missing some creativity in the midfield and we don’t have a persistent threat up front, but that’s about as good as we’ve been all season. We should improve a little when Jesus is back, but the midfield issues will hurt us until the end of the season at the very least.

I like Sterling and Foden as wingers. We created enough chances to kill the game, but the absence of a natural striker means that some really good balls across the box go wasted.

We’ve controlled the game well up until now. Marseille have really only been able to create a couple half chances. The centre-backs have been reliable and it doesn’t look like Marseille have the players on the pitch to really exploit our weaknesses at left-back.
 
So far so good. Nice energetic performance. No weak areas. Let’s hope Marseille come t more in second half and open up some space for us.

Or, they prefer to show solidarity whilst standing together.

I didn’t read anything into it. I certainly didn’t see it as some sort of protest. I think it would be a leap from what we saw to think Marseille aren’t in favour of a more equal society
