For the most part I think that was a professional CL away half of football. We’ve dominated possession and kept them to the odd breakaway.

I don’t like our right side at all. Stones and Bernie is just a woeful partnership and when the midfielder pushing over to that side to support is Reijnders, it really is adding nothing to our attack.

Haaland is a complete freak. What a goalscorer he is.

Foden playing well.

Would like to see more from Doku but I think if our right side was more effective, Doku being quiet, wouldn’t affect us so badly.

Not a bad first half.

Good on the ball and created plenty of chances and should really be further ahead. Defensive frailties are still there even though we have limited them to just one shot so far.

Not totally convinced by Stones in that position though. Their wide man on the left has far too much space and he really offers next to nothing going forward. Leave us very short of pace at the back too.

Having said that, if we can keep up the level of our forward play and tighten up at the back, we should win this.

Best thing I can say is it looks like a typical European away performance from one of our successful seasons.

The very good news is no one is fucking flapping and folding after giving up a goal.

Usual 5-4-1 in their own last third bullshit to go up against. I hope they're fucked after 75 minutes and we score 10 the boring cunts.
Utterly controlled them apart from a wonderstrike.
I reckon we get 5 when they run out of legs.

Always been a **** as a commentator, decent player in his day though
He was but because I've hated Spuds since 1981, I couldn't appreciate his skillset in the 80s.

Same with Souness, great player, but I hated the Dippers. I had a scouse bf late 70s and went to the game with him when Souness made his debut. Wearing my City scarf!! I gave no frcks in those days....

Anyway it's all gravy ATM as we are leading, could do with a few more.

Clive Allen loved his 3 years here, inspire of monkey head, I think. He's absolutely drooling over Erl and Phil. Fabian Delph and Michael Brown both enjoyed his goals too. Sounds like we're dominating but still some gaps at the back.

The big don getting booked for time wasting in the first half, fking typical City!!

Monaco 1-1 Man City

That's that for the opening 45 minutes.

Erling Haaland at the double for Manchester City.
When I saw that thought I had fell asleep during a VAR decision.
Dickheads

Thank God we've got Erling Haaland. 2 goals from barely half a chance, unbelievable.

We look like last seasons City in defence, but look good in attack. Foden has been sensational. O'Reilly done well but he has to sure up his touch in tight positions, too many attacks breaking down because of that. Reijnders not offering anything as the 8.

Would love to see doku pushed inside somehow in this tactic, he'd be devastating picking it up in those pockets rather than just holding the width.

another player - mostly of London clubs - from that "golden age of talent" which never qualified for an international finals competition ( see Charlie George, Gerry Francis and others for confirmation )
He played in the 82 and 86 World Cups - definitely played in the Hand of God game.

Good so far, aside from that weird 5 minutes

Reijnders looking more like the player we bought
