Ederson did the right thing, he would have won the ball ahead of the Newcastle player if Cancelo hadn't nipped in infront of him, but he couldn't rely on Cancelo getting there.

It's not been given as a penalty because the Newcastle player didn't have the ball, there's an argument it's an off the ball foul but not a strong one.
