It's been a very sad time for Phillips at City.

Bielsa made the good player he was. He was coached brilliantly by him and worked incredibly hard to get to where he is now.

The injures has probably lost him his confidence and being injured has a huge psychological effect on players and I don't think he's ever gotten over the bad injury he's had.

Also he's probably not good enough to play at a incredibly higher level than he was at Leeds. For the sake of his career. A move to a midtable/struggling Premier League team might be the best thing for him right now.
