Initial thought on Stones, who has never impressed me, is that 3 at the back suits him, hides some of his weaknesses, as it did for Luiz at Chelsea.

Foden is not having a great game, but that's really down to Madrid's Isco, Kovacic and Modric being at another level than United's midfielders. I think Foden is more use to the 4-3-3 the academy uses, than this new system.

Pretty much nothing Foden has tried has come off. His head must be exploding playing for city against Madrid. Love his energy, this formation puts him and KDB in some incredibly tight spaces
