Reference the first penalty,

if a direct free kick hits otamendi in the wall with his arm in the position where the ball impacted his arm, it's never given

It would only be given if his arm is raised or wide of his body.it hits him where his arm would normally be........by his side

Not a clear obvious error either as VAR team had over 3 mins to negotiate on phone for an increased payout for this one..

You can do whatever you like. I’m on record as reposting IFABs change in the interpretation. I also said “when the ball is heading at goal”. There can also no longer be accidental handball goals from attackers either.

There's no way it's deliberate handball. Otamendi gets set, sees he's in trouble, that it's heading towards his arm. He very quickly tries to put it behind his back but the ball is hit that quick at his arm that he can't get it out of the way.

Both nailed on penalties, although I’ve got doubts about the second one as the replay they showed for about two seconds indicated that three schalke players were offside.

This for me.

It all depends if we have the mentality to pick ourselves up for H2; or whether we will just sulk and continually run into dead ends and hold our hands up in exasperation.....
