I genuinely thought the game, in typical city fashion, would get abandoned with us 5-0 up at half time.

They have actually looked pretty dangerous especially early on, then Pep told Cancelo to drop 5/10 yards so Goncalves wasn’t so free. He looks a very decent player btw.The scary thing about this game is that Sporting have played quite well.
Just goes to show that if we are on it then I’d back us against any side in the world.

I actually thought we looked quite shaky even at 2-0. Sporting are very decent in possession and it looked like they were capable of opening us up. The 3rd killed them though and they look like they have now given up all hope. As decent as they are in possession they are woeful out of it and we have certainly taken advantage, which we don’t always do.
Thought Stones was excellent at RB again, although I think he will quickly learn that a gut-bursting overlap of Mahrez is fucking pointless because he won’t be receiving the ball. Save your legs John.

You can tell they believe in themselves. Im quite sympathetic to their plight. They want to play the way they believe they can. And we are pouring sand in their lunch with all this sexy football and goals.I thought Leeds and these have looked good crazy as it sounds. They almost make it man for man when they win the ball back up top.
The more this type of beating happens the less likely anyone turns up to beat us actually playing football.

Seriously though, get Delap on. Rest Mahrez for Saturday, get Sterling on the right, let Bernie go for his hattrick against Benfica's rivals and lets see the kid get 30 minutes.
We can even save Godri and put one of Fern or Gundo on.
