One thing that's really telling for me... In previous seasons people marvelled at how well we won the ball back by pressing high up the pitch. We've seen very little of that this season. Why? Because we aren't losing the ball high up the pitch because we are playing zero risky passes.

Our ability to win the ball back is one of our best qualities but we're too scared to lose it in the first place. We probably used to get as many goals from the press after an intercepted risky pass, than straight from actual risky passes.

I thought we had a good start before the goal, need to keep plugging away and be more positive with the ball.

Something is obviously not right in the dressing room.

There is a reason Pep is picking these Crazy lines up putting square Pegs in Round Holes to make a point.

Trouble is it is to the detriment of the team.

Is he losing the dressing Room, and the Plot ?

I think it is a valid question.
Dias, Laporte and KDB on the bench. Phil supposedly ill. I’d say something is not right. This goes deeper than Cancelo.

Kane is a carthorse

Mate. You talk sense on here most of the time but come on.

It baffles me that so many blues don’t rate him.

He scores for fun and is arguably the most gifted technical striker on the planet. He’s also a model professional and nice bloke.

I love Haaland obviously. But Harry Kane would’ve been DYNAMITE at City. Not signing him is up there with Messi as the biggest ‘what if…’ of modern City.

He’s fucking mint.

Build up play too slow.
Pass, pass, pass but no penetration.
Not one player looks for a run from Haaland.
Rodri having a bit of a mare, confidence looks a bit shot in this match but he’ll come good I’m sure.
Defensively we look very suspect. Akanji getting targeted, he’s panicking like mad. Probably should be replaced.
Grealish having a good game.
Looking at the starting line up, that 1st half performance was predictable. Pep having a ‘heads gone’ moment again. Don’t overthink it Pep, play your best team, make them think about how they are going to stop us, instead of us keeping hold of the ball and worrying about their counter attack too much.
Roll on 2nd half and hopefully a big change in performance.

I think the tactic off not passing to haaland and creating fuck all night have contributed a bit
Not really sure why I bother coming in to the match thread.

It gets worse and worse by the week.

Would love to know where this narrative has come from about us ‘wanting control’. Would also love to see what that means in practice cos we ain’t controlling fuck all recently. Shite. Passive. Football
Yup we're keeping it in the fridge where the other team wants it

Rodri's worst game in a long time.

Lewis being hung out to dry on that side.

Ake our best defender. Move him out to left-back, bring on Laporte.

Kev in for Alvarez and maybe Gundo for Bernie after 70 minutes.

Can't fault the tempo or desire, but Pep's tactical shapes are leaving us fighting with one hand tied behind our backs far too often right now.
Desire lacking in my opinion
