Pretty sure we tried this system when Pep first arrived? Thought it didn’t work at the time due to the full backs but just done think it works in the Prem.

There was a point before the first goal that sums things up

We were right on the edge of the box and could’ve put a cross in as we had a few players there and within 15 seconds the ball was back with our keeper. Why?

Put the ball and give them something to think about, force an error or something. It’s no good passing the ball back down the pitch and to our keeper when we are on the edge of their box.
No other team does this in any league

Rodri not passing or even looking forward

Walker receiving the ball and deciding to pass back instead of to Mahrez

Once again players ignoring the runs from Haaland

Lewis isn't left footed at all so putting him there when he will always go on to his right foot is not ideal

Grealish hesitating when he has the ball in the box

Lets hope we see something different on the second half.

So glad I switched KDB for Fernandes and switched captain from Haaland to Rashford for my FPL this week. And no, don’t call me a rag!!

I think if you’re Dias or Laporte and you’re watching that shit today, with this whole inverted full back bollocks proving an absolute liability and continually costing us goals, you would have to ask serious questions as to what’s going on with Guardiola.

We looked like a team of strangers again in that first half and it’s gone on far too long now.
Its simple...you can have all the midfielders and all the inverted fukkbacks you like, if the system is designed with a fear of making a forward play until you are in a very narrow and safe window of approach, you are never going to create shit...and ultimately struggle through games with very few chances created.

The system is shite and i think pep has created this system out of fear of the dippers in seasons past. He's maybe nowhere left to go tactically? We also know what a stubborn fucker he is...

Predictable Spursey v City. Only this time we gifted them a goal. They are a very ordinary outfit who will win nothing.

We don’t deserve to be losing but this is a typical MCFC 2022/2023 performance. We start with the aim of solely keeping possession. We play largely without pace and passion. Symbolised by Bernardo. Great player for us but not this season

All that’s missing today is a Son goal.
We do deserve to be losing but we have time to get it back, huge 45 mins coming up.
