Started well but faded. Too many mistakes from Mendy and Mahrez. Every single chance they had came from us giving the ball away stupidly. We were lucky not to concede to at least one of them. It’s very apparent that we’re far from match fit. Not really surprising given the short preseason.

Their right-back should have seen at least yellow. It’s not unusual to let one or two go, but five or six?! We’ve looked dangerous down our left side with Sterling and Grealish. It’s just unfortunate that the referee has helped them out.

Hope we get Mendy off at the start of the second half. As time goes on, one mistake can cost us the game, and Mendy looks by far the most likely to create something for them. Fernandinho, Dias and Ake have done well. Cancelo has been pretty good also, just needs to cut out the few errors he has made in possession.

The good.
Grealish looks to me like he will suit our football very well. He rarely gives the ball away.
Ake is a proper defender. I like him.
Fern is still the best despite his pace going.
Torres hasn’t been bad at all. Not much service but very decent movement.
The bad.
Sterling losing the ball. Consistently.
Mendy losing the ball. Consistently.

The ugly.
It’s very evident that we are struggling up front. Who will score for us? We go down the wings but have nothing to aim for.

Think we deserved to be at least a goal up, but we don’t have a national goal scorer.

Torres is making all the right runs. If he is uninvolved, blame those who are supposed to get him the ball.

He is doing the work.

He has had some amazing runs but for some reason we are always trying to play through Mendy/sterling side and then we lose the ball

Early on we played well...but we have no threat upfront (no surprise)......Torres might be a great finisher but he aint a centre forward at present.

Mendy - awful as always....the guy just doesnt learn....caught in possession (again) caught out of position (again)- nothing to do with pre season or early games...he has always been like this....he has and always been a liability and still is.

Mahrez should have scored as well

We look like we will get hit on the break...at some point Spurs will get a breakaway right.

grealish playing ok....without affecting too much. Ferna been brilliant along with Dias....Ake besidesone hurried clearance has done ok as well
