The vine Hamann Pineapple posted reduces my confusion. His hand is not in a natural position. I don't think Sergio quite had his bearings so used his hand intentionally. Correct decision.

To me it's seems like Sergio was worried that the spin of the ball was going to take it wide as he only made slight contact with his head. He put his hand up to assist just incase so for me it was handball but how the linesman saw it I'll never know

I think the key thing is as people have already said there was no need to handle the ball as it was already going in, why would he intentionally handle it? for me i think it was his momentum carrying him forward and the ball hit his arm.

i can see why it was disallowed and if the ref believes it was intentional then he has to book him.

Got a feeling this season is going to be a write off very soon.

Call it what you will but it was BLATANT handball and absolutely NO NEED to do it. No one within 5 yards of him and the ball was going in anyway. Stupid!!
If that was Fernando or Mangala they would be getting slated.
BOLLOCKS

I do wonder why he had his hand there in the first place.

He didn't in the first place. He moved it there when he thought the ball was going to miss.

Looks to me like he felt he hadn't got enough of his head on it and thought it was going wide so decided to do a Maradonna.

this 100%

Sorry chaps but that's exactly what it looks like. It was almost certainly still going in, and he should have let it, but he didn't.
Agreed, didn't have to that...or anything at all. Just instinctive...and typical of how things are going at the moment for us

+1

radio guys called it even before it went in......no goal!! and clear handball.....

It was a handball and was certainly the correct decision. But it was accidental, He looked like he was falling forward and his hands instinctively went forward.

Just unfortunate.

And the reason why Aguero isn't getting slaughtered for an error is because he's one of the few actually pulling his weight in the squad.
No such thing as an accidental handball in the rules.

If we are going to continue playing like this we might as well drop the trophy off to Maureen and the chavs now.
I'll take a draw now.

Something very unprofessional about this team at the moment. The corners, the bizarre inconsistency and lack of tempo, the comical defending, Aguero putting his hand on the ball when it's about to cross the line. It just seems so small time from such a major operation.
