Match Thread | Wolves vs. Manchester City (16/08/25)

One consistent as usual - shite ref.

Ladies and Gents we have a midfield monster on our hands. And, quietly doing a very important job Nico has not put a foot wrong. Oscar showing how intelligent he is - clever player.

Also very pleased with James - looks very confident and decisive. Hope Cherki gets on to do his thing.

No silly errors and we should be more than fine.

Shaky for 25 mins but the back four were fucking excellent and made sure Wolves never threatened. For all the noise the home fans are making, Trafford's had virtually nothing to do.

Then we started winning the 50/50s and getting the ball higher up the pitch. Two bits of quality from Reijnders, with some help from Lewis, and we were suddenly 2-0 up. It's been steady enough since then.

Would like to see Cherki, O'Reilly and Marmoush before the end.

That'll do for the opening 45 minutes of the new campaign. Was it perfect? No. There were one or two meh moments. But I'll leave the moaning for others on here!

And Haaland has never not scored in the opening game of a season for us.

Well we certainly got better as the half went on. Two quality pieces of play for the goals. Rico's cross for the first one was executed really well to Haaland. Any less pace on it and it would been cut out. The ref giving them everything and us very little. Reijnders quality and Nico G looking very tidy. Trafford commanding and assured. Hopefully Cherki and Marmoush to come on after 65 and put the game to bed.
