Don't understand why they are allowed to have such an advantage to play on this shit surface...Worst possible conditions to play on a plastic pitch too which makes it even harder. Main thing is to make sure we come away with at least a point but even more importantly would be to ensure we don't get any injuries on this ice rink.

Good forward passing, making a lot of progressive runs with the ball, making some good runs without the ball as well. We just need to utilise him better. He did lose the ball a couple of times, but so did others. Playing OK, IMO.
Some good work from Nunes but gave the ball away more than any other player, not sure Pep will be happy with that.

The best way to describe that half is “frustrating”.

We weren’t bad, we actually dominated them, but we couldn’t capitalise, and I don’t think we’ll be as dominant in the second half (happy to be proven wrong, of course).

The pitch and conditions definitely played a part, but we also were both wasteful (Nunes and Haaland) and unlucky (Doku and Rodri).

Hopefully Pep makes a few tweaks (perhaps with Nunes and Kovacic, the latter being sloppy and generally bypassed by his teammates toward the end of the half) and lights a fire under the team for the second half.

Thought that half was by far Jack’s best showing this season.

Nunes is losing the ball far too often. Then flailing his arms about like a fanny. Our captains need a word with him. Rico playing well. Jack and Doku looking good too. Just need to get central midfield sorted out. Kova and Nunes need to step up. Give them another 10 and then bring on Bernie and Phil to demonstrate how it’s done.
Yes throwing his arms about wtf ??

The only thing I agree with you about is Ake offering little down the left and to a lesser extent players not playing Haaland in at times.

Calling that half 'Awful' is ridiculous.
Agreed. Ridiculous overreaction to call it awful. Average would be a more apt adjective. Bossed the possession, more shots, more on target, more passes.

Nunes is a bit of a conundrum at present, great turn and runs but his passing is suspect in tight areas, Rico looks better all round as he can run with it and pass and move around the pitch, he’s the perfect pep player. I do like Nunes though, shown more than kova so far tonight.
