muffin central!
How do they get away with it, Pitch playable but streets icy etc so match off...this never happened in my youth. There were 100,000 in the Trafford Centre one day during the sales, the pavements and carparks were an accident waiting to happen but did they close the TC? did they fuck! Have they closed all the shops in Manchester city centre ....No, then why do they deem fit to cancel a football match? I dont get it at all.

Its the same with schools, my school never closed because it was cold, we sat in class in our feckin coats ffs!

but i bet 47000 people didnt all arrive and leave at more or less the same time in the sales,

plus less chance of pissed up knobs fighting in the tc,

plus it wasnt just the police, it was a joint descision from both clubs, the council and the police,

i for one was not looking forward to driving the 40 mile round trip in it,, i would have done but can understand why it had to be called off

Have you been to Manchester centre or the Trafford Centre this week? It's a ghost town compared to what it's usually like. When the 'sales' were there was just a bit of ice here and there, fast forward a week or two and there's parts of Manchester which look like Soviet Russia!

If you lived 20 miles away from COMS how easy do you think you'd find it getting there on Monday night? I take it you've been in work all week and not snowed in like I was?!

I was surprised the Stoke game was played on Boxing day. In my 46 years on this planet, I've never experienced pavements like that in this country

On the news there was two schools within 1/2 mile. One shut , one open. When they asked the headmaster of the shut school, he said something like:

"someone slips in my school, guess who gets sued?"

World's gone mad.

i live 20 miles from stadium and not looking forward to it,, usually drive to night games to get home quicker, but think i might get supporters club coach for this one,,

You didn't go to school in 1979 then did you with the 6ft snow drifts.

People used to get crushed to death in matches and they just played on carrying them round the side of the pitch as the match played on. We have progressed a bit since then, people getting killed a injured at or around the match is important now.

Most of the pavements up here still have inches deep ice in places, it hasn't snowed for a while but it has barely thawed either, so it's just all been compacted, thawed a tiny bit, but frozen again straight away. I get the bus into the Glasgow everyday, and the main pass time is people watching out the window, seriously half an hour trip and i always see at least one person on their arse.

In crowds of thousands of people, where you have young kids, old folks, plenty of people who have a few beers etc, if the pavements are anything like up here, people will get hurt.

The Trafford centre wasn't full of hooligans wanting a fight.

In any case the travel of both sets of fans was considered, and I'm glad it was.

Schools were closed because there were no teachers !
