I don't get all the hype about Nunes, yes he's a good honest midfielder nothing more nothing less, he wont make us any better than what we are. He wont improve us that much going off those video clips ive seen, we'll be no different with or without him. If Phillips got his act together he'd on par with him.

IN MY OPINION
Disagree. Quality player Nunes. For those who watched him for Sporting, you'll know what he's about.

Pep said he's one of the best midfielders in the world for a reason. There's no coincidence Sporting won the title when Bruno Fernandes left, and he was deployed as a number 8 in that side.

Seriously good player.
Big big engine in him.
My only concern is will he be happy playing second fiddle to Rodri because I think that’s what Pep wants him for…unless he can turn him into a creative player.

Nunes is similar to Paqueta. Both aren't particular eye catching on the ball but are creative and can cover for Rodri.

I think the reason Pep said that was more out of courtesy, considering we just a few months later preferred to sign Kalvin Phillips for a similar amount that Nunes cost Wolves the same summer. A bit strange, if a player our manager really thought was one of the best midfielders in the world was available for the same price and most likely demanded a lower salary.

When Sporting won the league Nunes only started 12 games, the season after when he started games regularly they finished 2nd.
Nunes turns 25 on Sunday and has only had 2 seasons as a regular starter in senior football, 1 great season in the Portuguese league and one mediocre season in PL. I would personally value the season in the league we are playing higher than the season in the Portuguese league, especially considering that season is also the most recent, but I suppose thats just my opinion.

This seems like a high risk signing to me, especially at the fee thats being speculated. Just my opinion, but if we do sign him I will obviously hope Pep can turn him into an elite player and that he will become a great signing for us :)
