Yes he was one of our main targets a couple of seasons ago . Make no mistake he is a very good player and if he comes he will be even better after pep has done with him but striking is not a the answer but I would imagine he knows it’s this season or never

tbh, I only remember some vague rumours after a game vs Sporting which faded quickly afterwards. That's my recollection of it. I could've missed something of course.

Judging by some of the comments it looks like the clear Wolves leak that he’s “gone on strike” has worked…. The narrative is clearly to make him out as a bad character and most of you are lapping it up. Two sides to EVERY story guys, remember that. We had a post earlier from a forum of theirs clearly stating they were breaking promises to the player.

I'm not sure why Wolves would leak that, in what way does it benefit them? They're obviously willing to sell and I can't see how it would make City up their offer.

Two reasons spring to mind, a) so they can milk us for more money to push the deal through, right away last night some were reporting that we were willing to meet the valuation as he’s downed tools. Then there’s option b) they don’t want to sell him so are trying to put us off by using him in a way he looks bad! There’s also options like they know there could be backlash so getting their fans onside and hating him for when he does move. There’s loads of reasons why they may leak it but logically it benefits them more than the player or City who can both look bad with negative press!
