IMO, he was the best player on the pitch tonight.

I am not saying lets sign him, but he is worth keeping an eye on.

Before moving to Villa Real he was nominated as one of the TOP 10 youngsters in South America.

yep ,that pic was when he dodged past Kolarov and Lescott, before his shot was blocked by De Jong..he could have actually got a penalty if he had decided to fall down when Lescott challenged him, as is the trend nowadays..

Pick of the bunch last night. I've seen him a few times and always thought he was a decent player, don't think he's premier league / champions league winning level though. In the end he was stuggling to get a game at Villareal before they offloaded him for not a lot of money.

I know he only turns 26 this year so not old, but can't see any really big team giving him a go at this point in his career. You never know though!

couldn't agree more, best player by far.

Matias Fernandez is a player with excellent technique. He was ellected, in 2006, the best young player across South America.
He has only one more year to terminate his contract, as well as Rui Patrício, our GK.
I want that both stay and renew.

Actually, Matías Fernandez and Izmailov are the best Sporting players. We have young players with enormous talent like Carrillo(camed from Peru this season; has 20 years old and is a internacional Peru player), Jeffrén(camed from Barcelona but has many lesions; after 2 months with lesions scored 2 goals. :) ), Insúa(underrated player. Has enormous potencial and is the best left defender in Portugal), Wolfswinkel(Great Dutch school. Great potencial), Xandão(a good suprise. He is on loan and will stay certainly.), Capel(Camed from Sevilla and is our. Im sure that you know who is he.), Schaars(Has 27 years, and camed for less than a million. His a internacional Dutch player with 20 internacionals games.), Rinaudo(one of the best Sporting players like Matias and Izmailov but he broke his leg and he is recovering.), Rui Patríco(the best GK in Portugal and one of the best in Europe. Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Milan asked for him.), Onyewu(The Captain America. He is a monster. Is injured but is best central defender of the team).

We have another young players like Diego Rubio(18 years old and is a internacional Chilean player :O ), André Santos(22 years old and is a Portugal internacional player, camed from Sporting Academy-one of the best in the world. Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Simão, Quaresma, Rui Patricio... camed from Sporting Academy ), André Martins( Young talent player. Is the future Sporting "Matías Fernandez").

There are some players from our Academy with good potencial, like Bruma, Iuri Medeiros, Betinho, Ié and anothers.

On my opinion, at the present Izmailov and Matías are the best Sporting players. Carrillo(we love him) will be an future World star:

If you want to know more things about our team or about teams in Portugal is just ask.

Greetings from a Sporting (not Libon) fan.

p.s- Sorry for the bad english.

And good luck for Manchester City on Premier League. ;)
