if John could play half a season for us I would keep him, and by half a season I mean at full tilt. Fella is a Rolls Royce of a player.
He's probably the most technically accomplished of our plethora of CBs. The guy is pure class. Just a crying shame that he's so susceptible to muscular injuries. How many of his regular absences have been down to impact injuries. Not that many, I think.

Condolences. I was pretty giddy when we signed Haaland

Personally after my teens I didn't feel the need to get too excited about signings, now we know it's all for the love of money even less so.

Apologies for pissing on your Erling bedspread ;-)

Are we buying South American kids and just selling them on?
I imagine it's more like identify players we think can make an impact in European football. Bring them in, have a look at them, decide whether to loan or keep.

Then best case scenario at some point down the line we get relatively cheap first team player (Savinho) or we can sell and make a profit (Perrone).

Echeverri and Reis are in the first stage of being assessed.

Me too, some fans have a real issue with City approach to being a commercial business.

These kind of buy and sell have a positive impact on our bottom line and help fund other purchases, the odd one may end up being good enough to play, but the days of City have paid of £10 million for a kid from Brazil, can’t wait to see him our over. Most of the time they will be club signings aimed at maximising value.

I’d argue it is the same fans who complain about ticket prices and city not stumping up fees for 1st team players.

Surely his saying is don’t get excited for all transfers

Also, the message it sends out to youngsters is that, if you come to City, there's a very good chance you'll make a lucrative professional career regardless of whether you make it at City. Apart from Couto and Perrone, the headlines on Sky Sports transfer news involve Delap and Frimpong. And that's before you get to the lower leagues where they still get paid more in a week than I get in a month.

100% I have friends who children are in the City academy and when City discuss it, it is sold as a gateway into professional football.

Bcoz we sign players with potential and then sale for some other players who put a big dent in form of wages and amortisation
Phillips Gundo Bernardo with high wages and less output taking up places while their alleged replacements or sales are rocking it up elsewhere

Love our model and seeing how players make it somewhere else. It’s incredible to think that the fees match what we got for our prized asset in Shaunny W back in the day. If I were the parent of a talented kid I would bust a gut to get into our youth set up.
