Then the "independents" form an "independent group" (you have to form a political group to get some privileges) then they'll split because of, well - independence, or decide they'll join the Tory group (because they always were but didn't want the toxic association) or now they'll join the Reform group (same reason) and they'll just carry on criticising the ruling group without having any better ideas for running the Council (on the same inadequate budget). On planning they'll get publicity for voting against applications just so they can say they were outvoted by the committee members - who approved applications that if refused would be overturned on appeal with possible costs awarded against the Council.I suspect a lot of 'independent groups' will get more council seats than expected because people don't want to vote for the usual cunts or the fringe ones.
Sounds like somebody needs to go.One of my local councillors has changed his party allegiance 3 times, always according to the party most likely to get him elected. He's now campaigning to do next term, all the things he could have done during the last term.
I thought Lee Anderson was an MP?? ;-)One of my local councillors has changed his party allegiance 3 times, always according to the party most likely to get him elected. He's now campaigning to do next term, all the things he could have done during the last term.
It shows the electorate want change and the so called big parties aren't listening. Happy to keep the status quo with their cosy donations and draw up laws according to the highest bidder.Amazing to think that the Two big powerhouse party's will both be behind Reform & Greens come May 5th.
