Mayweather vs Cotto

Very good fight that. Those 2 muppets they had commentating on Boxing Nation didn't have a clue, Floyd had to dig deep there make no mistake about it. I was actually embarrassed listening to that, just the sheer bias of that commentary team. It was like listening to fanzone or summat.

I actually only gave Cotto 2 rounds (6+8) but there were plenty of close rounds in there, nothing like the 1 sided displays you normally see from Mayweather.

Money won the close rounds with the cleaner work. Cotto done well and Money even said it after the fight that this was his hardest fight so far. A hell of a champion was his words. The thing is Cotto for me has been dealt a bad hand or 2 in his defeats. The catch weight fight with Pacman everything went into Pacmans favour by the catch weight fight. Then the Margarito cheating fight 2 fight were Cotto lost. If Cotto boxed Manny at the normal weight who knows what would of happend.

Money will go down as 1 of the greats no doubting it. If your a young fighter sit them down put on the Money fights and he shows how to win fights with great defence and quick hand speed. He is the master in boxing at the moment and the rest just cant handle him. No matter what happens from now on Money will be in my all time greats even if he doesnt win another fight. He was brilliant early in his years KOing a lot of fighters but as he moved up the weight he has used his boxing skills to win fights as his power hasnt travelled up the weights. It shows he isnt on PEDs.

Unlike Manny which has KO'd a lot of fighters while moving up the weights. Yet since Money asked him about doing Olympic style testing those KO's and preformances have been worst. Maybe they were right and Manny was using PEDs. As I have said Manny has got some calls in his favour against Marquez were he got beaten twice in my view but got both decisions crazy if you ask me.

As for Money and what next. I think a fight with Saul Alverez could be the fight that Money may opt for. The young Mexican champion against the older champion. Think it would be a great fight for the 2 fighters. To be honest I would rather see that fight first before a Pacman fight. The hungry young Lion against the older experienced Lion to see who is the best in the division. America would buy it up big time.

We will once Money comes out of jail you never know how he takes his time in side a lot of time to think things over he might come out of jail and decide to hang the gloves up.

Leighton, you clearly know yor boxing pal but I totally disagree with your suggestion that Manny's doping. Manny hasn't carried his power up the divisions as can clearly be shown by his record at 147 and above.

I think a Floyd/Canelo fight is a couple of years off yet at least it will be if Canelo's advisers have any sense. Sugar Shane gave him way more trouble than he should have been allowed to and Floyd is way too smart and slick for him currently. The pundits last night were speculating that Cotto/Canelo could be made next - I'd look forward to that one.

Speaking of which Buncey was saying today that Haye/Chisora is 80% likely to be announced shortly for a summer showdown at Upton Park. Wouldn't mind being at the weigh in for that one!

I'm beginning to lean towards Sergio Martinez taking Floyd out if they ever fight, Martinez would have that massive size advantage and the slickness to execute a gameplan.

I'd be more interested in seeing that than Mayweather/Canelo, which would be a 1 sided lesson in the same vein as Trinidad/Vargas.

In his earlier fights he did carry his weight up. I think there is a few big question marks if he wasnt using PEDs the fight would of been made and done by now. Since that came out he hasnt preformed well. In his fight with Bradley I will be interested in seeing how he gets on. I have a lot of time for Bradley a good fighter and he will give Manny problems in my view.

I seen the same thing on Sky Sports news the other day. A stupid fight and 1 Haye will spark out Chisora who shouldnt be anywhere near fighting the boxers he has boxed so far. A scumbag of the highest order. As for Haye he is only fighting to shut him up he wants to fight the Older Brother K. Who if you were to believe already offered him the fight and then didnt sign it thats the reason why Haye was at the presser in the first place.

Some good boxing to come on the Sky with Khan and Froch fighting in World title fights by the end of the month.

Yes thats the thing with Money he has a lot of options open to him. A move up to Middleweight might be too much of a ask for him to fight against Martinez. I can see Martinez fight Daniel Geale the Aussie. Its the only fight for him or move up to take on Andre Ward.

Hopefully for Irish and UK boxing in Middleweight division hopefully Lee beats Chavez jnr for the WBC title. Lee wants to beat Chavez and then fight Martinez. Sadly I think Lee will get robbed when he fights Chavez Jnr in Texas I think but there have been rumours the fight could be moved to Mexico so what ever chance Lee had fighting in Mexico will be a lot harder to get a result if the fights tight. If he did win it could bring back days of Collins , Eubank and Benn. With the likes of Murray , Barker , Macklin and Lee there could be some big nights of boxing in Ireland and UK if he wins and avoids Martinez.
