mcfc.co.uk

Wouldn't be surprised at all if it did. No ads. No flashy annoying nonsense. It's clean, easy to use, and has features for free that other clubs would make you pay bucketloads of cash for. Really brings us fans closer to many aspects of the club.

We have some top people now working for our club..

Richard Ayers, head of digital, Manchester City FC

Manchester City is a football club on the up. The scale of its brand, business and media ambitions match the intentions on the pitch. Richard is focussed on driving forward the club's approach to media - championing innovation, forming unique partnerships and delivering increased audience engagement and reach.

He's a multi-disciplinary digital pioneer and veteran. A hybrid of content and commercial expertise, he was originally a radio journalist who turned geek when the Today programme's editor said 'we should get on the information superhighway' in '94. He was part of the team that launched BBC News online in '97 winning awards for his special report on Kosovo pioneering data journalism, and inventing the BBC's first news discussion board 'Talking Point'. In the .com boom he went commercial and ran Tiscali's portal for the next 7 years, melding creativity and monetisation, increasing user engagement and quadrupling revenues. In 2008, he became MD of gong-laden multiplatform production company Magic Lantern and, among other projects, launched the Guardian's video service.

For the last few of years he has focussed on a small portfolio of clients including the BFI, the Guardian, Hodder publishing, Kasabian and was Web Publishing Director for the regionals division of Trinity Mirror until joining City at the end of last year.

Mentions City as well...

It is the best website, there's just no question. I've been on a lot of other club's websites and they're just absolutely wank from a designer's point of view and content-wise. How many other clubs publish highlights less than 24 hours after a match for free?

didn't it win an award for best website or something or other a while back?
best site in my opinion, the videos are class :)
The videos are class, but a lot of the other content is very weak. The site looks great but lacks substance a lot of the time.

Think that ever since the takeover, every single part of the club has become so much more professional; the website, the kits and everything that contributes to the club's success. It is much more of a 'project' than just wild spending as it is so often portrayed as in the media. The sheikh really does know what he's doing.

The design is brilliant and the match day centre is also very good but the lack of academy info ( player profiles, news etc) and other things like mistakes with the results and the lack of stats lets the website down imo.
