MCFC documentary on tonight (22/3/17)

What an absolute brilliant programme which Gary should be immensely proud to have been a part of.

Almost a must see for all blues and virtually an induction for future blues to see what we're really all about

Thanks for the link to the video. Really enjoyed that despite images often showed before (many probably haven't seen them though).
Just wondering why Quinn was in there as he hardly can speak positive about us as a pundit.

Thanks for the comment. Let's hope further documentaries of this type follow. All I did was speak the truth about City - sadly, not all want to hear it. As time moves on people may start to realise that Manchester City isn't a club defined by a century of failure and then it got lucky, it was a major club from early 1900s through to the mismanagement and downgrading of the club by Swales and his supporting directors and senior staff. They may have meant well but they took the club on a downward path which, sadly, became to define the club. MCFC was the first Manchester club to top the average attendance charts - about 40 years before Utd - and first to achieve major success. It was THE Manchester club pre WW2 and yet we're told by some 'experts' that the club has always lived in the shadow. Really? Anyway, I'm preaching to the wrong people on here - we all get it.

Whenever I'm interviewed by the media on City, United, Manchester or football/sport in general I try to be objective, truthful and fair - that's all I would expect from the media - and whenever I am interviewed people often say "wow, didn't know City did that" or they are surprised that MCFC was the bigger club and so on. All I do is stick to facts and whenever I do that City (warts and all) have a history that is as good as any other club with peaks, troughs, records, stars and loyal fans. Being owned by the wealthiest owner doesn't mean the club is rich, nor should it define it. In fact City should never be defined by money, 3rd tier football or anything else. The club is a full package and we should seek to explain this at every opportunity. If those who (are lucky enough to get the call and) speak with the media stick to the facts and explain what City is then we'll eventually get through to the majority.

Thanks again to all who have spoken about my contribution. I really appreciate it and it has encouraged me enormously. Thanks

Oh - a favour: Some of my academic research is free again for a brief period. The more it gets downloaded, the better the opportunity that people will understand Manchester's football origins. This is mainly about the significance of City winning FA Cup in 1904: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14660970.2014.961378 and this is about football in Manchester before then: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14660970.2016.1276238 If anyone wants to tweet those links and encourage others to read then, obviously, I won't say no. Thanks again.

Just got to watch this - what a great half hour - one minor niggle, the FA Cup win was quoted as 2010 by one of the City bigwigs - of course it was 2011....

beIN Sports are showing the documentary in SE Asia. It is normal for such tv sports programmes to be repeated several imes over a short period.

Interesting they are promoting the Premier League by calling on viewers to become "fans" by choosing a club to follow. I believe the Manchester City documentary will be followed by others covering dfferent Premier League clubs so people can learn about them. We can exect more visitors from abroad in the coming years.
