Mads Mikkelsen was equally as good in the Hannibal TV series.

both were hollywood tinged and far more vauderville than scary though, and a bit campy as serial killers.

Brain Cox's annoyingly arrogant yet as normal as a next door neighboir Lecktor though in Manns film is chilling as you cannot tell he is a psycho at times

For me this has to be Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. Bardem is excellent and the unpredictability of a Cohen film just increases the suspense.

I’d go with him too, the very essence of a psycho if ever there was one …
