I posted earlier that as far as Rag sites go, it was one of the more sensible ones out there - don't get me wrong, there's a fair few knobheads on there but the same can be said for this place too.
Anyway, the "City in talks with Kaka" thread on there is nearing 300 posts spread over 7 pages (them obsessed with us? Never!) and I can report that the bitterness is reaching boiling point now. Some of the numpties over there are giving it the old "City ruining football" bollocks. Well, here's a message for all you worried people on Red Cafe because I know a fair few of them like to come over here and have a nosey:
1) If City are ruining football as you put it, you can argue that football as we used to know it was ruined by the likes of United years ago. Don't get me wrong, it isn't just the Rags we can level that accusation at but you lot are some of the biggest money-obsessed culprits in the game.
2) Don't even attempt to give me that shit that United have always spent within their means - lets go back 20 years or so to Ferguson's first real spending splurge. The kind of money you were splashing out back then put you millions into debt and you weren't bringing in enough money through gate money, sponsorship, advertising, and TV revenue to cover his spending. Why else did Edwards try to offload the club to Michael Knighton? You remember him don't you? The man who came out on the pitch in his United tracksuit to milk the applause of the Stretford End prior to your 4-1 home win against Arsenal on the opening day of the 1989-1990 season.
3) Since when did you United fans ever care about the state of football? Since when did you care about the Rochdales, Exeters and Colchesters of this world? You've only ever been bothered about world domination. And as for the claim by one numpty on Red Cafe that City are trying to bully Milan and Kaka - that's the biggest laugh ever coming from the biggest bullies in World football. How about you go off and bully Andy D'Urso round the Old Trafford pitch for daring to give an obvious penalty against you? How about your manager corners Torquay's manager and chairman and bullies them into selling Lee Sharpe to you (as he shamelessly admitted in his autobiography)? Oops, you've already done that haven't you? Funny how you suddenly care about the state of the game now and are demanding such things as salary caps which, yep you've guessed it, will only make the so-called "Big 4" even more untouchable.
4) Just face it - you're getting a little worried that we may just have the makings of a decent side now, so why not admit it instead of spouting crap about the ruination of football and salary caps?
