Media bias against City

You might have seen in the DT that Mangala is so bad that Sagna talks to him during matches.

Even playing as a kid, we were screamed at to 'talk to each other' but with City it appears a fault.

Did you see Sagna lose Giroud for his goal? Probably not because you'd be focusing on it being soley Mangalas fault. Everyone has faults if you watch that player for 90 minutes. Seems the medias agenda is set fans against certain players who will win us pots like Yaya (Sky/Carragher) and Mangala (BBC).
In 2011/12 we'd conceded 16 goals in 20 games, 2013/14 let in 23 goals by 20 games vs what we've let in now 21, normal really for a title winning side. What has set us back is the striking department as we're about 15 goals down on 2011/12 & 2013/14 seasons.

Throw in the fact that over half the 21 goals we've conceded this year have come in the 4 games that Demichelis has started as well. Without Demichelis, we've conceded 10 goals in 16 games, which is pretty outstanding. But you won't hear anyone in the media point that out.

Sshhhhhhh........stop being a ****! Our whole team, and their current predicament (3rd in the league (3 points off top), semi final of the Carling Cup, knock out stage of CL (after winning (or fluking!) the hardest group)) is all down to Mangala being utter shite, Kolarov being utter shite and Yaya being a lazy ****. Luckily, Silva/Aguero/de Bruyne and Sterling will carry us to the title on the back of all the goals we'll amass.

According to Jamie Carragher, earlier today, our problem is we're still relying on the same players (KdB & Sterling were conveniently ignored in his analysis).
Perhaps her thinks we should move Silva, Yaya and Aguero out like the last half decent Liverpool side shifted on Mascherano, Alonso and Torres?

I hate to go all psychobabble, but blues suffer from classic cognitive dissonance....

"cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time."

All fans suffer from it to an extent, the effort of coming to terms with love of club and a bad performance, a bit like getting pissed off with the behaviour of a family member, but still loving them (OTT yes, but you get the idea).

But for City fans we have the added complication of being surrounded by the media, magnifying every slip up, damning us with faint praise and casting everything we do as the effort of a disreputable galacticos club at the top table by dint of shady "Arab" oil money.

So our first reaction is to defend the club against the media gobshites, all the time knowing that we actually didn't play that well, hence cognitive dissonance.

Bluemoon is riddled with it.

Fair play, you've explained it well there mate. And now we'll all carry on as we did before!

Whilst there is some merit in what you post, I think for most blues it isn't the criticism that bothers us, but rather the complete inconsistency in reporting on us compared with other leading clubs, most especially united. That has little to do with yesterday, and more to do with wider issues. From a personal point of view, the recent more critical reporting on united, although extremely belated, has attenuated that perception a little, but nonetheless it is plain to anyone who cares to pay attention that we don't get an even hand with the press. I believe that is all most of us ask for. Criticism is not really the issue for many imo.
