Media Bias

so i see the 'usual suspects are here having a pop at what the vast majority of posters on here think

more so they deride blues for having an opinion different to theirs, and that's what pisses me off

but of course should you ever question them they always have a pop at how thick, deluded, paranoid you are

ably abetted by rags masterminding as blues or some other team somewhere

Agree mate. By all means have your own thoughts but there's never a need to insult fellow blues (unless they're nicking your pint or bird :D)

Oh dear!
now why did you bite?
It's a love bite, embrace it!

FFP is the only media bias towards our club it stinks to high heaven and that KUNT Gill has proposed it for premier and he wants it in as quick as possible before our income gets to 300m+ what Whelan said about Gill being the one behind it and it's because we have scared them with our spending power! So when we were skint and the scum was spending 25m 30m 19m for players it was ok fuck him

I've been pondering whether to post this for a while simply considering it might simply be a personality clash, but this has been bothering me.

Dave, is there some especial reason you've decided that your new favorite pastime is throwing abuse at people? It seems to be your sole aim lately to be honest, and you act as if there are rules for Dave and those fortunate enough to agree with you and rules for Everyone Else. You've repeatedly shown up lately only to deride people for the sin of not being you. You used to debate points although when you tired of it or sensed you weren't on the winning side, you would often resort to sneering condescension. These days, you simply start with the sneering condescension and rarely introduce a cogent point.

I think at this point we all get it. You despise a good amount of City fans, especially here on the forum, and you think we're a lesser breed who can't live up to your standards. So now in some strange effort to be clever, you're making incredibly convoluted metaphors about carts, horses, and horses spewing shit out of their mouths. Evidently, City fans are the horses in this frankly absurd example.

Honestly? It's hypocrisy. I don't use that word lightly either. You have railed in the past about posters who only exist to try to prove you wrong because they can't handle your truth, which is paranoid nonsense. Now your primary interactions are quite often to rail about needless paranoia among fans here. Additionally, you've on multiple posts in this thread repeatedly chastised people for ignoring your question (and incidentally insinuated this as proof of your correctness) while on at least two occasions ignored questions directed at you.

I'll be blunt. I've seen more elegant internet trolling from 9-year olds. You have put yourself into a situation that's dragged on now for a long time, and it certainly seems to have embittered you towards the forum. No one else did this to you. You did. You're the one that makes debate into a confrontation, and you consistently and distastefully make it personal. I have no especial desire to see you unhappy or see you leave (on your own or otherwise) but I used to enjoy reading your debates even if I didn't always agree. It's an internet forum. It's not worth this. I realize you might respond--if at all--that you aren't bothered in the slightest, but it's not about you being bothered. It's about treating people as if they're more than something you would scrape off a boot.

In fairness to DD, the horse/cart thing was a response to something I said upthread. I basically said he was putting the cart before the horse and it started running from there on.

We have crossed swords before about this issue, DD and I, and he thinks I'm talking shite by seeing bias in the media and I think he is talking shite when he says there is none. Neither of us, I think, takes what the other says too seriously.

So whatever validity your post otherwise has, I don't think that the horse/cart thing was a metaphor for blues generally talking shite, he was just swapping banter with me.

And we both know I'm right really, anyway.

True although the part where I found the metaphor strained and being used as a sideways swipe at forum members et al. was "the steaming pile of shit" remark. I should have been more clear. I have a degree in linguistics and literature. No one appreciates analogies, metaphors, etc. more than I as long as they're on point. ;)

When the seagulls follow the trawler it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea

What qualifies you to say this? Have you asked the seagulls? Do you have a masters in bird nutrition which qualifies you to say that seagulls have a preference for sardines above all other fish? Or a PhD in avian logic which enables you to pronounce confidently on seagull thought processes? have you conducted lengthy studies which enables you to conclude that seagulls are adept at differentiating between trawlers and other seafaring vessels?

I was on a ferry to Ireland last year that was followed by seagulls the whole journey without a single trawler in sight, so that blows your theory right out of the water.

In any case, I think you will find that the seagulls aren't actually following the trawler, the trawler is in fact going full steam ahead to keep away from all that seagull shit.
