I don't want to talk about the merits or otherwise of the politician for obvious reasons, and it doesn't belong here anyway, but given Miguel Delaney's moral crusade, it is extremely questionable to say the least that his employer is quite happy to approve of political violence:

Imagine training to be a Journalist for years, and ending up writing shite like this.

Manchester City stars swig booze in open-top trophy bus parade

MANCHESTER City stars swigged booze on their open-top bus as they got their trophy parade underway. By David Rivers.

Manchester City are the greatest team of the Premier League era (ESPN)
You win five of six domestic trophies. You gain 198 of a possible 228 points. You triumph both when you have a 15-point lead in December and when you have a Liverpool team breathing down your neck until the very last game.

Yeah, you get to legitimately ask: are Man City the greatest team in the Premier League era? The answer is yes. As for their lack of Champions League success, it's not an asterisk against their domestic record. It's simply another target in the cross hairs, armed with the realisation that in a knockout competition, anything can happen, including going out on the away goals rule.

Great shout and I expect no less from Gab Marcotti, who is balanced and objective and as knowledgeable about the sport as it comes. He’s so funny during transfer season — I make fun of him as he always looks so uncomfortable making predictions about who goes where — but he’s outstanding when it comes to explaining WHY a player might go here or there.

And while we’re on that, in this piece Gab points out the sling/arrow that has been most wrong about City. Remember when City players were all “mercenaries”? Look at the camaraderie and spirit and togetherness. You don’t accomplish what City have without it.

I never thought ESPNFC would ever be the most thoughtful or objective place to find out about the sport’s goings-on, but after the bitterness, temper tantrums, chicanery, unprofessionalism, accusations, outright lies, exaggerations and basically Everest-sized mound of steaming chickenshit pouring forth from so many alleged journalists, they might be!
